Professor Jia, Ph.D.in Science, a supervisor of doctoral students, is the vice-president of Beijing Technology and Business University. He is enjoying the Special Government Allowances of the State Council, and is also one of Provincial Teaching Celebrities in Higher Education. He successively worked as a Dean of the Department of Food Science and Technology in Hebei Agricultural University, and was also a vice-president in Hebei University of Science and Technology. Prof. Jiaalso service as a concurrent commissioner of Food Science and Engineering Teaching Guide Committee of Ministry of Education of the PRC, Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering and Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Prof. Jia’s major research interests are food microbiology, functional enzymesexploring and enzyme engineering technology. He hasexploredmany microbial resources with a high-levels production of lnulinase, lactase, glucose-oxidase and antimicrobial peptides(AMPs).A lactase secreted by Aspergillusnigerhad been optimizatied the optimal pH was found to be a good resource forreleasing the lactose in the dairy industry.He also explored a functional AMPswith anexllentantimicrobialproperties, which is expected to play a revolutionary role in the field of food, agriculture and medicine.

Recently, he has managed and completed many National and Provincial Funds. And now he is managing 2 projects funded by National KeypointResearch and Invention Program of the Thirteenth, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Hebei Province’s KeypointResearch and Invention Program of the Thirteenth. Prof. Jia has received several prestigious awards such as the First Class Prize (3 times), the Second Class Prize (twice) of the Province’s Science and Technology Awards. His research has also resulted in 6 China invention patents, more than hundreds of publications and 2 National Planning Books as a chief editor. His primary teaching responsibilities are to teach Enzyme Engineering Technology and Food Microbiology for undergraduates.
